I, like many people, love horses. So much so that I spend my time photographing them. Equines are regal and noble animals. They are kind, ever wanting to please and they love unreservedly. If you find a bad horse you’ll find a bad owner. I have never met a horse I didn’t like.
In my travels as an equine photographer I have visited a wide variety of equine centres, stables and simple barns. I have also had the opportunity to visit a number of extraordinary animal rescue centres. It was at these facilities where I truly became aware of the plight of all animals but, horses in particular.
I should point out right now that I am apolitical. I support no one party and, if the truth be known I have little regard, no little respect for politicians. To me they accomplish little and whatever they do accomplish is done for self-agrandisement.
I recently read a story about a tragedy that occurred in south western Ontario that further strengthen my resolve that politicians and bureaucrats are ineffective and uncaring.
I’m posting the link to that story for the writer of it relates the facts much better than I could ever. What you’ll read is a story of a tragedy, a tragedy that occurred in Ontario. It should never have happened.

My reply and posted on the blog.
I don’t fault the volunteers nor the employees of the OSPCA but I direct the blame at the management, the board of governors and the politicians. It is mostly the politicians. They are ineffective in dealing with any issue that is distasteful to them. They lack the spine to address, no attack, those that take a l’aisse faire attitude to situations like this. It’s easier to simply collect a pay cheque and not stir the pond.
Their attitude of “if it doesn’t impact me directly who cares” is typical.
It is time for, not just horse lovers but, all animal lovers to standup and DEMAND that Mr. McGinty and his spineless minions note this tragedy and take a pledge that it will never happen again to another horse nor another cat, or dog or any animal.
Common Mr.Premier take a stand make it happen.
